At Insmed, every moment and every patient counts — and so does every person who joins in. As a global biopharmaceutical company dedicated to transforming the lives of patients with serious and rare diseases, you’ll be part of a community that prioritizes the human experience, celebrates curiosity, and values every person’s contributions to meaningful progress. That commitment has earned us recognition as Science magazine’s No. 1 Top Employer for five consecutive years, certification as a Great Place to Work® in the U.S., and a place on The Sunday Times Best Places to Work list in the UK.

For patients, for each other, and for the future of science, we’re in. Are you?

About the Role

We’re looking for a Director, HCP Marketing Lead to help us expand what’s possible for patients with rare disease. Reporting to the Senior Director, U.S. Marketing Team Lead, you will own the overarching HCP customer engagement strategy —translating market insights, clinical data, and prescriber dynamics into a compelling value narrative while driving the direction, resourcing, and execution for our field sales team.

What You'll Do

In this role, you’ll have the opportunity to own the development and execution of the overarching HCP marketing strategy, translating brand objectives, market dynamics, insights, and clinical evidence into differentiated positioning and compelling customer engagement strategies. Identify opportunities to influence clinical consideration, treatment initiation, and adoption through a deep understanding of the HCP and patient decision journeys and evolving treatment paradigm.

  • Develop the core HCP messaging platform, translating complex clinical data into clear, credible, and motivating messages that address unmet medical needs, treatment barriers, and preferences across HCP segments. Ensure alignment of core messaging across all promotional channels.
  • Define the HCP communication strategy across personal and non-personal promotion channels, establishing audience priorities, core content narratives, and engagement goals. Partner closely with digital marketing to translate communication strategy into coordinated omnichannel execution.
  • Lead the end-to-end development and deployment of the sales marketing strategy. Define resourcing, call objectives, execution frameworks, and targeting models in alignment with commercial priorities. Develop high-impact sales tools, resources, and clinical selling narratives, partnering with Sales Leadership, Sales Operations, Market Access, and Training to ensure field readiness and strong strategy pull-through.
  • Collaborate across Marketing, Sales, Sales Operations, Training, Market Access, and Analytics to build and refine brand strategy, evaluate execution, and identify opportunities to improve customer engagement. Establish structured feedback loops with the field to capture customer insights, identify barriers to treatment adoption, assess message effectiveness, and inform ongoing brand strategy and execution.
  • Lead the HCP Agency of Record across the full promotional lifecycle—from creative briefs and concept design through MLR review, production, and field release. Set scope, manage performance, and ensure high-quality, field-ready deliverables on timeline and budget.
  • Steward tactics through the Medical, Legal, Regulatory (MLR) and compliance governance processes. Build trusted cross-functional partnerships with Legal, Regulatory, Medical Affairs, and Compliance to proactively resolve risks, accelerate review cycles, and uphold promotional integrity.
  • Manage budgets with fiscal discipline, partnering with Commercial Finance to track spend against forecast, prioritize vendor investments, and efficiently produce field marketing resources.

Who You Are

You meet one of the following minimum education and experience requirements: Bachelor’s degree required along with 10+ years of biopharmaceutical brand management/marketing experience OR; a Master’s degree with 6+ years of biopharmaceutical brand management/marketing experience.

In addition to the minimum requirements for the role:

  • Prior experience in field sales and/or rare/orphan diseases is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of HCP decision journeys, customer segmentation and targeting, treatment adoption drivers, and factors influencing prescribing behavior. Proven ability to synthesize complex market research, competitive intelligence, and clinical data into actionable HCP strategies, connect marketing execution to measurable commercial outcomes, prioritize investments, and make data-informed decisions.
  • Demonstrated expertise in translating complex scientific evidence into clear, compelling, and differentiated HCP messaging frameworks that resonate across prescriber segments and drive clinical behavior change.
  • Demonstrated track record of designing, delivering, and pulling through successful field sales tools, messaging, and associated training.
  • Exceptional executive presence, communication, and matrix-management skills with a proven ability to influence without authority across high-performing teams.
  • Thorough understanding of FDA regulations, promotional guidelines, and MLR review processes.
  • Authentic commitment to improving the lives of patients living with serious and rare diseases.
